Title:
"The Nineteenth Fleet" (aka, "The Zippered Fleet") was a collection of "mothballed" ships at U.S. Navy Shipyard. The smaller ships shown are attack destroyers that have been cleaned, their hulls painted with anti-fouling paint and their armaments covered with a cocoon to protect from dampness, and dehydration equipment installed. The larger ship is the "Isle Royal", a submarine tender which carries small stores, food and movies to supplement stores on subs.
