Title:
The burned-out hull of the tanker ship, Markay. The fire, which started about 9:00 p.m. with an explosion, destroyed the Union Oil Co. terminal and dockside terminal buildings. The tanker had been loading gasoline that was highly charged with butane gas to improve the antiknock quality of the fuel.
