Joshua Tree National Monument before the National Park Service has "sanitized" the 29 Palms Oasis. Two native Washingtonia palms growing along the spring-fed stream of the oasis. This oasis was a watering and resting place for horse-drawn freight wagons as they paused on their trips to the gold mines in the Mojave Desert.
